STOCKTON – Jimmy Boras and the rest of the Pacific baseball team’s veterans were desperate for a chance to exhale.
Boras delivered for the Tigers, including his seven fellow seniors, by smacking a walk-off single down the third-base line to score Preston Moebius and cap a 3-2 nonconference win over UC Davis on Tuesday at Klein Family Field.
Boras, Pacific’s leadoff man, has dealt with injury problems this season and is just beginning to find his form again. In his first at-bat, Boras doubled off the left-field wall but was thrown out at third base trying to extend it into a triple.
