STOCKTON, Calif. - A goal by Sigrid Aas in the 71st minute was not enough as the Pacific women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Gonzaga on Friday night in the West Coast Conference opener.

The setback brings Pacific to 3-7-2 on the year, 0-1 in WCC play while Gonzaga improves to 9-1-1 overall, 1-0 in conference action.

The Bulldog offense fired out of the gate with four quick shots in the first 13 minutes of action which required two saves by Henriikka Mäkelä. Going the other way in the 31st minute, Sigrid Aas sent in a corner and the deflection found Alex Hussar at the near post, but her header went just high of the crossbar.
