STOCKTON — Mike Neu is used to shouldering responsibility and pressure.
The first-year Pacific baseball head coach is a husband, father of two and former major league pitcher. But commanding his own NCAA Division I college program, that’s brand-new.
Neu’s and the Tigers’ season debut is today, as Pacific visits Cal Poly for a 6 p.m. game in San Luis Obispo. Pacific’s home opener is against Northwestern at 7 p.m. next Friday at Klein Family Field.
Neu takes over for St. Mary’s High product Ed Sprague, who coached Pacific for 12 seasons before resigning in June 2015.
