STOCKTON - Fans of the Pacific men’s soccer program had to wait a lifetime to witness an NCAA Tournament game Thursday at Knoles Field.
They had to wait another 54 minutes to see the Tigers claim a lead, and subsequently go down as the first Pacific team to ever win an NCAA postseason home game. The packed crowd of 750 surrounded Knoles Field in a light rain to witness the Tigers celebrate their 2-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton.
Pacific (13-4-1) next plays No. 9 Stanford on Sunday.
“It was brilliant to play on our home field in the tournament, the crowd was great,” said Pacific coach Ryan Jorden.
