Tigers must band together against Gaels

STOCKTON - These are the times that test the mettle of players and coaches.

The Pacific men's basketball team has nothing left to play for but pride. Mired in a five-game losing streak and occupying the cellar of the West Coast Conference standings with Pepperdine and Portland, the Tigers are heavy underdogs against No. 18 Saint Mary's at 8 p.m. today at Spanos Center.

Tigers coach Damon Stoudamire told his players after Wednesday's practice that they have to believe they can win tonight.

"When you start losing, it's tough on everybody," Stoudamire said. "You start questioning yourself, but you have another day and you have to band together.
