Tigers finish tournament on high note

STOCKTON — A greater sense of urgency by the Pacific men’s basketball team produced a blowout victory over Canisius in the closing game of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase on Sunday at Spanos Center.

After a disappointing loss to Texas State the night before, Pacific (3-4) coach Damon Stoudamire stressed in pregame the importance of taking it to the Golden Griffins (3-3) early.

As a result, a crowd of 1,150 saw Pacific win 80-58 as five players scored in double-figures, including Anthony Townes’s team-best 14 points. That didn’t include all-tourney team selection Jahlil Tripp (11 assists), who was a point and a rebound short of a triple-double.
