The Pacific softball team has a new Director of Softball Operations.
Mario Moreno was appointed to the role for the 2017 season, as announced by Tigers head coach Brian Kolze on Tuesday. Moreno is the co-founder of the All-American Sports Academy travel ball organization, which began in 2005.
During his 13-year stint with competitive softball, Moreno served as a regional director for the Premier Girls Fastpitch. Additionally, Moreno worked on staff for a AASA 18G Merrida team that produced back-to-back top five finishes. In January, the Merrida team was ranked third in the country by FLO Softball and most recently, that team won a championship title at the prestigious Boulder Independence Day Tournament.
