In a match that was a lot closer than the scoreline showed, Pacific men's tennis (4-15, 1-5 WCC) fell 4-1 to Cal Poly (11-7, 2-0 Big West) on Sunday in the final non-conference match of the 2019 season.
The Tigers narrowly lost the doubles point to start the day and then rallied back in singles and had an opportunity to tie the match a 3-3 on a number of courts, but a loss at No. 2 singles clinched the contest for Cal Poly.
In doubles, junior Ross Watson and freshman Philip Hjorth rolled to a 6-1 win on court two and moments later, Cal Poly evened things up with a 6-1 win on court three.
