Pacific baseball played spoiler with last night's win by eliminating San Diego from West Coast Conference Tournament contention and looked to give the Toreros a loss on their senior day, but three runs in the eighth inning pulled out a win for San Diego on Sunday, 4-2.
The Tigers scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning and got an outstanding seven innings of work out of their junior starting pitcher Ryan Shreve, but couldn't capitalize in the late-inning loss.
Shreve gave up a single in the top of the first inning before retiring 15 Toreros in a row and carried a two-hitter into the seventh inning.
