Tigers Fall As Broncos Pull Away In Second Half

STOCKTON, Calif. – Freshman Keshon Montague scored a career-high nine points, including a half-court buzzer-beater at the first half horn, but a second half surge by Santa Clara propelled the Broncos to a 64-47 victory over Pacific Saturday evening at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Pacific fell to 9-18 overall (3-11 West Coast Conference) with the loss. Santa Clara improved to 14-13 overall (8-6 WCC).

Neither team led by more than five points in a tightly contested first half, and the teams went into the intermission deadlocked at 27-27. Montague secured the halftime tie with a half-court bucket at the horn for his third three-point field goal of the half.
