Pacific men's tennis fell in its season opener at UC Davis today, 4-2. The Tigers were set to take on Fresno State as well, but the match was cancelled due to impending darkness.
The Tigers got wins from freshman Philip Hjorth at No. 2 singles and junior Tadiwa Chinamo at No. 4 singles, but dropped matches elsewhere to the Aggies in the loss. Doubles play, which was set to come after singles, was abandoned after Davis clinched the match.
"Congratulations to Davis for competing really well today," head coach Ryan Redondo said. "I was confident we were well prepared for this match mentally, emotionally, and physically and it showed to start.
