Tigers drop 3-2 decision to Spartans

San Jose, Calif. – The men's soccer team suffered their first loss of 2016 after falling 3-2 to San Jose State on Sunday afternoon in a match that saw three red cards issued.

Johnatan Rico-Contreras opened up the scoring in the 14th minute off a Tristan Blackmon assist to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, his second goal in just as many games. The lead was short lived as the Spartans would answer with a goal of their own shortly after to tie the game 1-1.

Sophomore Bob Groenendijk netted his first goal as a Tiger to put the Orange and Black back up on top 2-1 early in the second half.
