PROVO, Utah – The University of the Pacific baseball team closed out its season in a 6-5 victory over the Brigham Young University Cougars and took the series, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers finish 22-29 overall and 11-16 in the West Coast Conference, while the Cougars fall to 22-28 on the season and 11-16 in WCC play.
In the first inning, Pacific took advantage of a couple of errors on the Cougar defense to take a quick 1-0 lead, as Kevin Sandri scored on a throwing error. BYU answered back in the bottom half with a home run over the center field fence by Daniel Schneemann to tie the game, 1-1.
