Tigers bounce back in series finale

STOCKTON – Matthew Tarantino used his two seasons of JC baseball to acclimate to the jam-packed days of being a collegiate athlete.

Tarantino is learning quickly in the NCAA Division I arena, and had his best offensive game yet, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI as Pacific pummeled Penn State 6-1 in a nonconference win Monday at Klein Family Field.

"It's unbelievable having him right there at shortstop," Tigers starting pitcher Ricky Reynoso said of Tarantino, a transfer from College of Marin. "It's a big bonus knowing he's going to bring guys in.
