STOCKTON – Pacific volleyball coach Greg Gibbons and staff were setting up Wednesday’s first official practice for the upcoming 2017 season inside Spanos Center.
To the Tigers’ eighth-year coach’s surprise, the players bounded onto the court some 25 minutes prior to the scheduled 9:30 a.m. start time. Gibbons had been looking forward to the start of practice from the moment the 2016 season ended. That his team displayed an equal amount of exuberance made Gibbons even more excited.
“They were early,” Gibbons said. “They went straight from lifting (weights) with (Director of Athletic Performance) Joey (Rossi), sprinted down here and we were like, what are they doing?
