STOCKTON — If a team manages to score against the Pacific field hockey squad, it better be ready for a ferocious counterattack.
New Hampshire found this out on Friday, as both its goals were quickly answered by the Tigers in Pacific’s 4-2 win in the quarterfinals of the America East Conference Championships at Pacific Field Hockey Turf. It was a fast paced, offensive-minded affair with the two schools combining for 47 shots.
Pacific (15-4) advances to the semifinals against No. 17 Albany at 2:30 p.m. today. Stanford and Cal play at noon. The Tigers made it to the second round of the tournament for the second year in a row, and the happy crowd serenaded the players with soccer chants as the final minute ticked off the clock.
