Sudden Agony In GCC Championship For #16 Women's Water Polo

San Diego, Calif. - Alexis Hollinrake made a career-high 16 saves, but the No. 16 Pacific women's water polo team was topped in sudden death overtime by No. 15 San Diego State in the Golden Coast Conference Championship Sunday at SDSU's Aztec Aquaplex.

Megan Torre scored three goals while Karolina Hlavata, Rachel Krieger and Viktoria Szmodics each score twice.

Neither team led by more than a goal, and the two teams battled for 9:25 of extra time. Tied 8-8 after regulation, each side converted a five-meter penalty in overtime, but in the second sudden death period, Caroline Israels hit the back of the net from three meters out 25 seconds to end the game in the eighth period.
