Strong rebounding helps Tigers outlast Spartans

SAN JOSE – In their first overtime game of the season, the Pacific women's basketball team beat the San José State Spartans 99-96 on Friday at the Event Center.

The Tigers (2-1) had 25 second-chance points on 24 offensive rebounds, their most in a game since Dec. 12, 2014 against Cal Maritime. Four Tigers had multiple offensive boards, led by Emily Simons with five.

GeAnna Luaulu-Summers became the first Tiger with 10 or more assists in back-to-back games since Tine Freil in 1990, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, 10 assists, and five steals. Chelsea Lidy set a career-high in her first start with 18 points and six rebounds.
