Damon Stoudamire, an assistant for the University of Memphis men’s basketball team, is reportedly the leading candidate for the head coach position at Pacific and was on-campus Tuesday, CBSSports.com’;s Jon Rothstein tweeted on Tuesday morning.
Memphis coach Josh Pastner said at the team’s season-ending press conference that Stoudamire might pursue head coaching opportunities, according to The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis, Tennessee.
Pacific athletic director Ted Leland could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
Former Pacific head coach Ron Verlin was dismissed from the university, along with assistant Dwight Young, after the season ended in early March.
