Eric Sloan sounds calm and sure of himself.

“I’m not even thinking about whether I lose,” Sloan, a Bear Creek High and Delta College graduate said from the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday in Eugene, Oregon. “I just want to go out there and compete to the best of my ability, stay healthy and also get some good jumps.”
