STOCKTON — With the long season officially over and the state title trophy sitting at Delta College, it was time for the Mustangs to party.
A day after completing one more comeback to win the CCCAA state baseball championship, Delta gathered at the home of head coach Reed Peters on Tuesday afternoon for a victory barbecue. Peters sweated over the grill and dished up hot links and cheeseburgers to his team.
In a way it was fitting, since the Mustangs made Peters and the coaching staff sweat out a long but successful weekend in Fresno, which ended with a 7-5 win in the title game against Big 8 Conference rival Sacramento City College.
