STOCKTON — Even though Delta’s offensive hitting prowess was on prime display Saturday at Nick Cecchetti Field, players and fans may never forget the sight of outfielder Brett Young diving head first over the fence to catch a foul ball to end a Folsom Lake rally.

As it turned out, the Mustangs claimed their sixth shutout of the season, 10-0, but Young’s catch left an impression among teammates, coaches and fans well after the final out.

“In my time here, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a play like that from a player I’ve played with,” said first baseman Shea Sbranti, who smashed three doubles and went 4 for 5.
