It's been a big week for Pacific baseball's junior pitcher Ryan Shreve, and it continues to get bigger. Today he was named as the National Co-pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association today for his no-hitter on Sunday at Santa Clara.
Shreve etched his name into the history books at Pacific with a masterful no-hitter. The 6'6" RHP faced 28 batters and retired 27 only allowing a runner to reach base with a hit-by-pitch. Shreve struck out nine, a new career high for strikeouts in a game. Following the hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning, he retired 16-straight batters on his way to the no-no.
