The Stockton Heat salvaged a point, but it was a tough way to end the game.
The Heat gave up a shorthanded goal a little more than a minute remaining in overtime as the Ontario Reign won 4-3 on Friday night in front of a crowd of 2,488 at Stockton Arena. The Heat forced overtime when Glenn Gawdin scored his second goal of the night with just four seconds remaining in regulation.
Blaine Byron of the Reign took a holding call to put the Heat a man up, but Brett Sutter went the other way and ended the contest at 3:59 of OT.
