STOCKTON — Try assembling a 112-foot by 60-foot jigsaw puzzle with pieces weighing 180 pounds.
It would take time, patience and the occasional swing of a sledge hammer to put that baby together.
Yet, that was the task facing a crew of 15 workers as they built the playing surface for the NCAA women's basketball Stockton Regional to be played this week at Stockton Arena.
The floor was completed Monday for an event which has been in the planning stages for more than two years, and is arguably one of the most important weeks in the city's sports history.
