Pacific's Eackles joins 1,000-point club

Hailie Eackles reached the 1,000-point mark in her career, her team almost scored 100 in the game and the Pacific’s women’s basketball team cruised to victory in Malibu.

Eackles had a team-high 21 points as the Tigers trounced Pepperdine 92-64 on Saturday at Firestone Fieldhouse, snapping a five-game losing streak. Pacific improved to 11-14 overall, 4-10 West Coast Conference, and the Waves dropped to 6-20, 2-13.

Eackles, a senior guard from Sunnyvale, scored her 1,000th point on a 3-pointer with 2:08 left in the second period, which gave the Tigers a 38-22 advantage. She has 1,007 points overall, becoming the 21st Tiger to join the 1,000-point club.
