Pacific volleyball: Tigers battle but fall to San Diego

STOCKTON — The Pacific volleyball team did itself no favors Saturday.

Already perilously close to being off the bubble for an NCAA tournament berth, the Tigers kept it tight throughout the senior-day match against No. 7 San Diego but were swept by the Toreros 25-21, 25-23, 25-19 in front of 786 fans at Spanos Center.

Despite the loss, the Tigers (14-12, 8-6 West Coast Conference) were by no means dominated. Although Pacific did not lead until 19-18 in the second set on a Maycie LaBass ace, the tie at 18 was the 15th tie of the match and the biggest lead to that point was three points.
