Pacific baseball split a doubleheader with Portland on Friday night thanks in part to late inning heroics in game two.
The Tigers led into the ninth inning in game one but fell 6-3. However, the Tigers got revenge in game two when senior shortstop Kevin Sandri hit a sac fly into left field with the bases loaded to clinch a 6-5 win over the Pilots in the bottom of the 10th inning. Junior left-handed pitcher Joe Standley helped set it up when he worked out of a bases loaded no-out jam in the top of the 10th and kept the game scoreless.
