The Pacific softball team lost 5-1 to host Cal in a non-league game Wednesday in Berkeley.
The Tigers (14-19) scored a run in the first when Hailey Reed walked, Madison Kahwaty reached first when she was hit by a pitch, and Bradi Kooyman singled in Reed for Pacific’s lone run.
But the Tigers committed four errors in the bottom of the first inning, enabling the Golden Bears to go ahead 4-1 for good.
Freshman pitcher Myka Sutherlin had her seventh start of the season in the circle for Pacific. She pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four.
