STOCKTON, Calif. – A four-run third inning pushed the University of the Pacific to a series victory over Loyola Marymount University on Saturday afternoon, 7-5. The Tigers claimed the series, 2-1.
Pacific improves to 10-16 on the season and 3-6 in the West Coast Conference, while LMU falls to 13-14 overall and 6-3 in conference.
After one scoreless, the Tigers came alive in the second. Lucas Halstead hit a leadoff single to left center followed by a single to shortstop by Tyler Ryan to advance Halstead to second. The Lions then committed a passed ball and a wild pitch to push Ryan to third and score Halstead to give the Orange and Black a 1-0 lead.
