STOCKTON – There was no question that the Pacific men’s basketball team was to recognize NBA star Kobe Bryant on Thursday.
It was the Tigers’ first game since the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Bryant and eight others on Sunday. Head coach Damon Stoudamire played against Bryant for 12 years and said he deserved the pregame moment of silence and delay of game violation to open Pacific’s game against Loyola Marymount.
“I respect everything he did for the game of basketball,” Stoudamire said after the Tigers beat the Lions 62-50.
