STOCKTON — A win is a win, especially when it’s needed. So why did the Pacific men’s basketball team’s latest entry into the victory column seem like something was missing?
The Tigers at one point held a 20-point lead over visiting Portland, but ended up escaping with a fraction of that in a 74-70 win Saturday at the Spanos Center.
In the nightcap, the Pacific women’s squad beat Pepperdine 78-67.
Roberto Gallinat led the men’s team with 16 points on the night, 10 of which came from the free-throw line. Jeremiah Bailey added 12 points and nine rebounds for Pacific (12-10, 2-5 West Coast Conference), and Lafayette Dorsey had 11 points.
