STOCKTON — Seniors are often saviors for young college basketball teams.
And Jahlil Tripp is not just a senior on the Pacific men’s squad. He’s the only senior. So when things are looking bleak, Tripp’s presence is irreplaceable.
Tripp helped Pacific stave off a torrid comeback attempt from Coppin State in a 64-60 nonconference win Tuesday at Spanos Center.
Pacific (5-2) held Coppin State to six points through nearly 17 minutes of play in the first half, and led by as many as 17 points. At the end of the first half, and throughout the second, though, the Eagles (1-5) started getting buckets — including four 3-pointers from Dejuan Clayton.
