Pacific men, women hang on for wins

STOCKTON - Plenty of statistics from Friday night’s contest at the Alex G Spanos Center point to a one-sided affair. The Tigers had a 28-18 edge on points in the paint, a 35-16 advantage in bench scoring and outrebounded their opponents 50-29.

For one half, it was just that. But visiting Arkansas-Pine Bluff rode a full-court press all the way to a single-digit ball game late. Fortunately for the Tigers, they bent, but didn’t break.

The Pacific men’s basketball team beat the Golden Lions 78-69 as part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase. Miles Reynolds had 20 points to lead the way for the Tigers (2-3), who play Texas State at 6 p.
