Pacific makes historic 1st trip to NCAAs

STOCKTON — Andres Ochoa knew word had spread around campus about the success of the Pacific men’s soccer team when he walked into the room and his classmates applauded.

The Tigers are headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the program’s history, and the Pacific community is pretty excited about the prospect.

Pacific earned its at-large bid with a second-place finish in the West Coast Conference, and will play Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m. today in Northridge. After winning just three games in the first two seasons combined since the program returned to the school, the young Tigers are headed for the postseason.
