STOCKTON – Just when Pacific junior Austin Fox sparked his round with an eagle on the sixth hole, a lost ball penalty two holes later threatened to derail it.
But Fox regrouped to shot a three-under par 33 on the back nine holes en route to a team-best 69 to lead the Tigers in the final round of the West Coast Conference golf championships hosted by Pacific on Saturday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Defending champion Pepperdine won its conference best 20th WCC crown with a Saturday team score of 284 and a three-day total of 851 (13-under par) which was three shots better than second place San Francisco at 854.
