PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of the Pacific baseball team dropped a close one to No. 2 Stanford, 4-1, on Tuesday night.
The Orange and Black fall to 15-24 overall, while the Cardinal improve to 31-5 on the season.
After three scoreless innings, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead over the Cardinal. Tyler Ryan was hit by the pitch to lead off the top of the fourth but managed to advance two bases on a stolen base and an error by Stanford to set up the scoring run. Alex LeForestier stepped up and hit a shallow single to left field to send Ryan home for the 1-0 lead.
