Pacific women's basketball (15-8, 8-5 WCC) went on the road to BYU (18-6, 10-3 BYU) and fell 75-49 on Saturday afternoon in Provo, Utah.
The Cougars led wire-to-wire behind a hot start and 18 points from Shaylee Gonzalez. BYU shot 46% in the game and the Tigers made 26% of theirs. Pacific's sophomore Valerie Higgins led the way with 18 points.
BYU took a big lead early and never looked back after the Cougars jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the opening three minutes and led 24-9 by the end of the first.
BYU would go on to lead by as much as 35 in the third quarter.
