Pacific senior Jahlil Tripp kept the No. 4 Tigers close in the first half with 23 points, as they trailed No. 6 San Francisco 36-35 at the break. But Tripp cooled off in the second half, and the rest of his teammates couldn’t pick up the slack.
Pacific fell to the Dons 72-54 in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Tripp scored only six points after halftime, and finished with a double-double by adding 14 rebounds.
The loss ended a historic regular season for Pacific as Damon Stoudamire, WCC coach of the year, led the Tigers to their most regular season wins since 2009.
