STOCKTON – Pacific batters saw nine Spartans pitchers take the mound, but it didn’t matter to them.
The Tigers still found a way to post a two big innings, including an inside-the-park home run for a 10-5 non-league victory in front of 201 on Tuesday evening at Klein Family Field.
Things didn’t start off well for Pacific right-hander Hayden Pearce, who gave up five hits and three runs, two earned, as San Jose State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third.
But the Spartans, for all their batting power, had given up 19 crooked numbers this season of four runs or more, and Pacific did it twice to the Spartans.
