The fifth jersey number in the history of the Pacific men’s basketball program is set to be retired tonight.
Dell Demps, the current vice president and general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, will have his jersey retired at halftime of Pacific’s 6 p.m. contest Thursday night against San Francisco.
Demps played for Pacific from 1988-1992, where the 6-foot-4-inch guard was a four-year starter. He was a three-time All-Big West selection, including First Team honors in 1991-1992 and Second Team honors in 1989-90.
Demps was also a two-time team MVP for Pacific, and still ranks second in both career scoring with 1,742 points and career scoring average with 15.
