The Pacific baseball team started the 2019 season by sweeping Chicago State in a doubleheader Saturday at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers won the morning game 4-1 in a contest that was moved from Friday to Saturday because of rain. Pacific also won the later game 7-2.
The Tigers broke a 1-1 tie in Game One by scoring a run in the fifth inning and got two insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Both teams had six hits. For Pacific, Carter Hayes went 2 for 5, Michael Ricupito had an RBI single, and Keaton Glover, James Free and Kevin Sandri each had a single.
