Stockton, Calif. - Pacific water polo All-American Alex Obert was named to the United States Men's Water Polo team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
Obert, who has been a member of the 17-team US National Team since 2014, was announced as part of the 13-player traveling squad for the Olympic Games beginning in August.
With Team USA, he scored four goals in six games at the FINA World League Super Final in China last month, including a goal in the semifinals against Greece (in a 17-16 shootout win) and the Finals against Serbia, a 10-6 loss as the United States settled for silver.
