STOCKTON — Damon Stoudamire has played in numerous high-pressure basketball games against great players in front of crowds numbering in the tens of thousands.
But the 42-year-old never was more nervous than he was Wednesday, standing before a gathering of about 100 at the Vereschagin Alumni House moments after he was introduced as the new head men’s basketball coach at University of the Pacific.
“But I’m fine with that,” Stoudamire said, “because as you understand and get to know who Damon Stoudamire is, I just tell it like it is.
