NCAA alleges 10 violations at Pacific

The NCAA has issued a notice of allegations to the University of the Pacific, citing 10 violations that occurred in the athletics department during the 2011-12 academic year and the summer of 2014.

The notice cites eight Level I infractions, the most serious, and two Level II violations. Nine of the allegations involve the men's basketball program and one allegation centers on baseball.

Former head men's basketball coach Ron Verlin and former men's basketball assistant coaches Dwight Young and Joe Ford are named in the notice, as well as former baseball coach Ed Sprague Jr. The allegations say five men's basketball players and two baseball players received impermissible benefits.
