It’s hard to say a sweep was a close match, yet it may be the most ideal description for Thursday night’s volleyball match inside Marcopulos Gym on the Delta College campus.
Playing their second match in as many days, the Mustangs hosted Sierra College and dropped three straight sets for a clean sweep. Scores were 25-22, 25-20, 26-24.
Mika Fithian delivered 27 assists in the loss for Delta (14-4, 7-1 Big 8 Conference), which entered the night with sole possession of first place in the conference following Wednesday’s five-set win at Folsom Lake.
At Thursday’s outset, Sierra quickly gained the edge.
