STOCKTON — Beneath the home runs and strikeouts, the defensive gems and smart base running, there’s something special about the Delta College softball team.
The players and coaches said trust has helped them earn the Big 8 Conference title and the No. 2 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association Northern Regional. The Mustangs (34-5) will take on No. 15 San Jose (19-18) in a best-of-three series beginning at 2 p.m. today with Game 2 at noon Saturday and Game 3 immediately following, if necessary, at the Bucky Layland Softball Complex.
