STOCKTON — Rich Ressa knows that in the high-speed, offense-heavy game of junior college basketball, a game can turn on a few costly possessions.
Certainly, Ressa felt that way about his team’s effort on Tuesday night.
The Delta men’s squad’s rally fell short in the second half, thwarted by near misses and devastating counterattacks, in a 92-83 loss to Modesto in a Big 8 Conference game at Blanchard Gym.
“There were about three or four of what I call ‘five- or six-point plays,’” Ressa said.
Ressa was referring to those plays in transition where, Delta would come close, but miss an opportunity to score before allowing a bucket on the other end.
