Mustangs split Big 8 openers with DVC

    STOCKTON — The Delta men's basketball team showed no signs of holiday rust as they opened their Big 8 Conference season with a decisive home victory over Diablo Valley College on Tuesday at Blanchard Gymnasium.
    The Delta men won 85-50, while the women's team lost a heart breaker in the final minute, 74-69, to the Vikings in the first game of the double-header.
    Trailing 16-11 with 13 minutes remaining in the first half, the Delta men (6-6, 1-0 Big 8) went on a 26-7 run en route to a 41-25 advantage at the break.
