STOCKTON – The early scouting report on the Delta women’s basketball team likely included a footnote documenting the Mustangs’ struggles from beyond the 3-point line. After Tuesday night at Blanchard Gymnasium, the report may need adjusting.
Eight different Mustangs made at least one 3-pointer en route to Delta’s 79-46 thumping of Santa Rosa, with the team making 13 of 30 from beyond the arc. Delta, ranked No. 8 in the latest California Community College Athletic Association NorCal poll, improved to 2-0 in the Big 8 Conference (9-5 overall) while extending its winning streak to five games.
In the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, Delta’s men struggled from 3-point range and lost 70-65.
